Samantha Skey served as Chief Executive Officer of SHE Media, a top 10 media company reaching 74 million monthly unique visitors, for thirteen years before moving on in Jan, 2026 to pursue her passion for health, women’s sports and the future of publishing. Skey built and managed the SHE Media flagship brands including SheKnows, Flow Space, StyleCaster, soaps.com and the SHE Media Collective. She led the company through its acquisition by Penske Media Corporation in 2018. Skey remains an advisor to Penske Media Corp.
Under her leadership, SHE Media has become one of the largest networks of independent lifestyle publishers and creators in the U.S., with a strong emphasis on advancing equity and inclusion. Skey launched the SHE Media Collective in 2016 and later introduced the Meaningful Marketplaces, a first-of-its-kind initiative enabling advertisers to support women- and minority-owned publishers at scale.
In 2023, Skey founded Flow Space, a platform dedicated to women’s health and longevity that combines content, community, and commerce. Flow Space has already earned multiple awards for innovation and impact. She also launched the SHE Media Co-Lab at SXSW, convening leaders in health and innovation, which received an Anthem Award in its inaugural year.
Skey’s career spans 30 years in digital media and technology, with leadership roles at Disney, CNET, Alloy, and RecycleBank prior to joining SHE Media. She has been widely recognized for her leadership, receiving honors such as Woman of the Year (Women We Admire), Digiday’s Leader of the Year finalist, DM News Hall of Femme Award, and Ad Age’s Women to Watch.
She currently serves on the boards of The Ad Council, the World Surf League, and Acast, and serves om advisory boards for organizations including Let’s Talk Menopause, The Bronx Academy of Letters. She holds a B.A. in Comparative Literature from Hamilton College, where she also chairs the Hamilton Career Network.
Outside of work, Skey is an enthusiastic, if unskilled, surfer and an aspiring tennis champion, often found chasing waves and tennis balls alongside her husband and adult-ish children.
