Amani Duncan is an award winning culture-first executive who has spent twenty-five years helping iconic brands find their place in the conversations that matter most. As CEO of My Code, she leads the definitive media and marketing company for multicultural and growth audiences, the consumers reshaping American culture and commanding the next generation of brand loyalty.
Before My Code, Amani served as CEO of BBH USA, where she turned a storied creative agency into one of the most culturally relevant shops in the country. Her team created Glass Ceiling Breaker, a Cannes Lions-winning portrait honoring Vice President Kamala Harris, and Google’s Black Owned Friday, named the “Most Purposeful Campaign of 2021” and recognized with four Cannes Lions. She led work for Google, Heineken USA, LinkedIn, Netflix, and Mattel’s Barbie.
Prior to BBH, she spent two decades at the intersection of music, brand, and culture as SVP of Music at MTV, Chief Marketing Officer at C.F. Martin Guitar, Chief Marketing Officer for Blue Flame Agency and in senior executive roles at Capitol Music Group/EMI, Virgin Records, and Island Def Jam.
Amani has been recognized by Ad Age (Agency Executive of the Year), Adweek (Women Trailblazer), and Campaign (Female Frontier Award), and she was honored by the Girl Scouts of Greater New York at their annual Gold Achievement Gala.
A trusted voice in the industry, Amani has served as Jury President for the Entertainment Lions for Music at Cannes Lions, Jury President for Entertainment and Grand Prix for Good at the Dubai Lynx Festival of Creativity, and has judged the Effie Awards, Clio Music Awards, Ad Age Creativity Awards, and Advertising Week’s Future is Female Awards, among others. She serves on the boards of Fender Musical Instruments Corporation and Advertising Week New York, and is a founding member of Chief.
